It goes to the heart of a Corporate Trustee’s duty to remain absolutely independent so that it is free to make unbiased and impartial decisions for the benefit of beneficiaries and others for whom it acts. Trustees Executors established a Corporate Trust division in 1972 and, with its own independent Board of Directors, provides complete confidentiality of service and independence of action to its corporate clients.
The Board comprises four Directors being:
- Robert (Rob) Thompson (Chairman) - former Senior Partner of Coopers & Lybrand, Director of Terralink New Zealand Limited, and Deputy Chairman of Transit New Zealand Limited
- Malcolm Small - former Chairman of Lighthouse Superannuation Nominees Limited and a Director of a number of private property and investment companies
- Michael Griffin - Chartered Accountant former audit partner of Ernst and Young
- Ross Mulholland - former partner of Mulholland Ricket Law and Phillips Fox

Matthew rejoined the Trustees Executors team in Auckland in January 2005 after spending the previous two years working in the financial services industry in the UK. Prior to this he was a Business Analyst in the Corporate Trust team in Auckland. In addition to this he has held treasury and funds management positions in the finance sector in New Zealand.

Shahazad has been with the Corporate Trust team in Auckland since 2003. Prior to this, he spent three years in the retail portfolio administration services of TOWER Portfolio Administration Services. Prior to emigrating to NZ in 2000, spent six years in market operations with India’s largest Custodian and Depository participant.
